ARTFULL CRAFTS - SUPER TALENTED CRAFTERS AND LITTLE OLD ME!

Today is the day the new design team is announced over at Artfull Crafts - some super super super talented gals are joining the team and then there is ME!  Liz has so kindly called me an "expert" - what a lovely sense of humour she has :) Make sure you checkout these creative gals and be into win!  I can't wait to see all their creations over the coming year - check out the super talent here:

http://artfullcrafts.blogspot.co.nz/2013/08/new-design-team-announcement.html

I was lucky enough to be on the team last year and it was brilliant - here are a couple of my favourite projects from the year:

I think my favourite would have to be my little angel I created.  It was fun making this and I had fun experimenting dipping a polystyrene ball with the Easycast Resin for the head.  The result turned out quite porcelain like and looked very cool with the addition of some fine wool for the hair.

I have also had fun with some other off the page projects- like this altered jewellery box.

and this frame

I have also completed some layouts which I just love so here are my favourites!

I love this one purely as this is one of my favourite colour combos!
Layouts are always special when it captures one of your child's very first photos
and the layouts are made even more special if they contain memories like the baby's wristband
and journaling with their footprint included.

Possibly this is my favourite layout as it captures this kids and I altogether.  As I am usually holding the camera - this is a very rare moment!

Make sure you head on over to Artfull Crafts and check out the new design team - and win prizes will you do!

And to make sure you don't miss anything - make sure you follow Artfull Crafts Ltd on Facebook and you will never miss a thing!

Happy Scrapping
:)

JUST AN UPDATE OF WHAT I HAVE BEEN UP TO!

Finally found some time to catch you up on what I have been up to - where to start!

Last weekend Miss Mikayla had her 10th birthday party - she is a huge masterchef fan and loves to cook so it was no shock that her birthday party this year was a "Masterchef" Party.  Part of her present this year was doing a cake pop class at Milly's - now that is a fab shop if you love cooking!  So the plan was to invite her friends over to make cake pops.

First up the invitations were sent:

The plan - to make these cute little cake pops:

Her friends had a heap of fun doing a masterchef challenge where they had 3 minutes to ice and decorate 2 cupcakes... the results:

and a pizza lunch to feed the hungry munchkins!

and here is the masterchef herself with her masterchef cake!

And here are the M&M's with their cake pops!

On the scrapbooking front I have been doing some projects for Artfull Crafts in between hiding all my scrapbooking stuff for when the real estate agents bring people through our home!

Here are two layouts from the Flora Delight range:

If I had to pick a favourite from the range - then the paper Flora Delight - Chique would have to top the list - followed closely by the Flora Delight Sticker Sheet - I just love the flowers and the alphas are a great look and just the perfect size!

I have also been lucky to be playing with Kaisercraft's Marigold collection.  I just love the autumn colours of this range - from the deep brown to the burnt oranges to a splash of green, sage and blue - what is not to like!

Not to forget the all important journalling - I have hidden this in a secret pocket behind the "Cherished" title.

And with the leftovers from my stash - and just to show that autumn tonings can go with anything! - here is a layout scrapped of my little maine coone kitten Sophie!

Here is a sneek peek of a layout I have done using the "Bundle of Joy" collection from Kaisercraft - will be posting this soon on the Artfull Crafts blog so stay tuned.

ALTERED MUSIC BOX

Here is my latest project for Artfull Crafts...

Stocking stuffing time - and what better way to save money than to have a look around and see what you have that you can alter to give as a gift.

I found this old music box so thought why not give it a new lease of life.

I used the antique metallic paper from Kaisercraft's "Just Believe" paper pad to cover the box.
I added some trinkets, lace, flowers, pearl strips and leaves to the top.

Inside I was inspired by these cute little birds nests and eggs.

Adding more trinkets and flowers inside with the bird nests just made it.

I dearly wanted to find a little bird to sit in my music box so that may still be added once I find that perfect little bird.

Hopefully you are inspired to upcycle and create with some of those little gems lying around your home!

KEEPING ME BUSY!

Just thought I would share what is keeping me busy this week - my brother in law's 50th birthday and I was in charge of the cake - something along the lines of fishing for a marlin just in case you can't make out what it is!

TAG - YOU'RE IT!

I bit the bullet and recently took part in a "tag swap" - I had never done this before - other than helping the kids out with a "kids tag swap" several years ago - so this was a first for me! It was part of the facebook group "Scrapfest by the Sea" - the group is hosted by the super talented Trina McClune - so when Trina says tag swap - we swapped!

So here are a few pics of my ones:

Just a little close up:

One of the tags - the theme for our group was purple, texture and stamping.

And there they all are all together.

I went over and helped sort the tags with Trina and Sue - and boy did it take a bit of sorting - slightly stressful when we are trying to work out who was swapping with who and what bags they went it - but I think we did a fab job - helped by lots of chatting and oooohhhh and arhhhhing over everyones creations.

KAISERCRAFTS TWIG AND BERRY CREATIONS

Hi there
It is my turn to show you my creations I have made for Artfull Crafts using Kaisercrafts gorgeous new range Twig and Berry
I am not sure what inspired me for this creation but with the christmas range in front of me I thought why not create an angel!
So I started with a coil of corrugated cardboard as the base and started dressing it up using Kaisercraft doilies along the way.
I added cones of patterned paper to form the dress of the angel and folded some pieces to provide detail on the dress.
I have used sew easy floss as lacing on the dress.
I only had a polystyrene ball on hand which I have used for the head. Not content with the look of the polystyrene I dipped the ball into Barnes Easycast Resin. I kept dipping the ball into the resin by using a thin needle as a handle. The end result is a kind of porcelin look which was perfect for my little angel.
For her halo I used a Kaisercraft album ring and wrapped it in cream lace before adding two rows of pearls from the pearl strips.
No angel would be complete without wings so I have used the flourishes on the Twig and Berry Sticker Sheet for the wings. I completed the angel by adorning her with Kaisercrafts pearl strips.

So here is my Twig and Berry angel:

While I was having fun using Twig and Berry I created this layout:
I loved playing with the easycast resin again to create some embellishments for the layout - and my favourite heart punch came in handy for the layered hearts.
As usual I found a little place to hide my journalling tag!
And with the leftovers from the creations above I created this card

I hope you like my creations! :)
